World Cup, Las Vegas ’08
Had a great time at the World Cup. I have been dying to try out my new camera with some actual fencing photos, and the results are better than I had hoped.
First a few of my favorites.
Next, are some shots from the Women’s Foil pools. This room was horrible for taking photographs. The lighting was not nearly enough, flash is considered bad form, and the speed of fencing all make for bad pictures. I instead tried to focus on more stationary shots. Lots of on guard pictures as well as warm up pictures.
The rest come from the finals that night. The room was dark, but the strip was lit up bright, which made for much better pictures. First was the parade of contestants, everyone who made it to the quarter finals.
Next came the bout between Nam and Cipriani, which Cipriani ended up winning.
Then was the bout between Italy’s Vezzali, and US’s Prescod. It was a good bout, but Vezzali won in the end.
After that were the Men’s Sabre quarter finals. First up was Szilagyi from Hungry and Montano from Italy.
And the second quarter final for Men’s Sabre was Limbach vs Tarantino.
The first of the finals was Women’s Foil, Cipriani vs Vezzali both from Italy.
And Finally Men’s Sabre, Tarantino vs Montano
